The Department of Municipal and Historical Archives of the City of Athens welcomed today, Thursday, April 16, 2026, a large delegation of representatives from municipal archival institutions in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš, and other cities in Serbia.
During the meeting, the collections preserved by the Historical Archives of the Municipality of Athens were presented in detail, highlighting the wealth of historical documents in the capital.
An extensive discussion and exchange of expertise followed regarding modern management policies and the organization of archival collections, with an emphasis on the common challenges faced by organizations dedicated to the preservation of historical memory.
The visit was completed with a guided tour of the Serbian delegation through the archival repository, sealing the mutual willingness for outreach and collaboration.
